Can exercise be used as therapy?

Traditional treatments for low back pain include surgery, medication, acupuncture and massage, but there is also a form of treatment abroad – back pain school. In fact, back pain school is not a real school, but a direct translation of the English “Back School”, more accurately “back pain school” is a concept, a model of treatment and prevention of low back pain. ”The Back Pain School has been in operation in Europe and the United States since the 1970s and is now becoming more sophisticated. It divides patients with various causes of low back pain into different classes and teaches them appropriate medical exercises collectively, with individual instruction from the medical staff. The exercise corrects the imbalance of muscle strength around the spine, strengthens the stability of the spine, improves local blood circulation, and achieves the purpose of relieving pain and improving function. Currently, there are many patients in China who do not understand such a treatment approach. Patients think they come to the hospital to pay for medical treatment, doctors do not give drugs or acupuncture and massage, but only teach a set of simple movements for their home practice, is a little “not worth it”. And this “not to exercise as a treatment” concept is backward and unscientific. The main cause of modern back disease is the lack of exercise, lack of muscle movement will produce disuse atrophy, resulting in insufficient waist strength. Therefore, to prevent and treat low back pain with exercise is to seize the “root of the disease” and treat the symptoms. In addition, after the acute period, patients with low back pain have to go back to their normal work and life, and the most important thing is to recover themselves and treat themselves. With the help of some medical manuals to understand the occurrence and development of the disease they have, and do appropriate walking, swimming and other exercises, are very good help to get rid of low back pain. Most exercises should be judged as beneficial or detrimental based on their impact on the lower back. Usually, most exercises are good for the low back. Exercises such as swimming, walking, cycling or skating generally do not involve sudden, violent or stressful low back movements, rotation or twisting of the trunk and sudden impacts or falls. None of these sports are absolutely detrimental to the low back. In fact, the safety of any kind of exercise for the low back depends on whether you originally had low back problems and how well you grasp the exercise. However, there are some sports, like gymnastics, weightlifting, soccer and boating, that most orthopedic specialists give a red light to: that’s risking your back. And here are some sports that are not so dangerous, but where precautions must be taken to avoid injury. Running Running fast is not good for your back. If you must run, it is best to stick to often, but also pay attention to run on soft ground, wear shoes with protective properties, if you can not do, why not change to walking or cycling. Tennis Since people have to keep rotating, flexing and extending when playing tennis, it is not good for people with back problems. Some people suggest wearing an elastic waist brace to avoid excessive rotation of the back, or not to play high balls, not to play tournaments, entirely for recreation. Golf There is a violent rotation in the stroke that can damage the spinal discs and small joints. To prevent injury it is recommended to increase the movement of the hips and knees, reduce back rotation and can swing the ball. Tennis shoes or spikeless shoes can be worn to reduce the damage to the back from swinging. In short, people need to do the exercises that are right for them and not pursue adventure or excitement. Some doctors recommend that people do more exercises that promote hip and quadriceps strength so that they can squat without having to over-swing their backs. Young athletes in particular should do exercises for these two muscles.
