Allergic rhinitis, also called allergic rhinitis, is a manifestation that occurs when patients are exposed to allergens, including nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose, and other symptoms such as loss of sense of smell.
1. Nasal congestion: After exposure to allergens, the nasal mucosa will undergo an allergic reaction, and the nasal mucosa may become congested and swollen, thus affecting nasal ventilation and causing nasal congestion. It can be intermittent or persistent, mostly bilateral nasal congestion.
2. Runny nose: when the nasal mucosa allergic reaction, blood vessel dilation and permeability increase, plasma exudation and gland secretion increase, so there will be symptoms of runny nose, and can be more watery nasal discharge.
3. Sneezing: after the nasal mucosa is exposed to allergens, it acts on the respiratory muscles through the nerve reflexes, which results in the performance of sneezing, in order to promote the discharge of foreign substances in the nasal cavity.
4. Nasal itch: mainly because of the nasal mucosa metamorphosis, resulting in increased nasal parasympathetic reactivity, and then appear nasal itch.
5. Others: for example, the sense of smell is reduced, mainly because the nasal mucosa is congested and edematous, and the external airflow can not enter the olfactory region, so it will be manifested as the sense of smell is reduced.
It is recommended that patients with allergic rhinitis go to the hospital, improve the examination, and give appropriate treatment by a professional physician for the condition.
