Arterial embolism is a clinical manifestation of acute ischemia caused by a blood clot or a foreign body that enters the blood vessel and becomes an embolus, rushing with blood flow and stopping in an artery with a caliber similar to the size of the embolus, causing arterial obstruction. It is characterized by rapid onset, obvious symptoms, rapid progress and serious prognosis, and requires active management. The clinical manifestations of acute arterial embolism can be summarized as the 5 “P’s”: pain, abnormal sensation, paralysis, pulselessness and pallor. What are the main causes of aortic supply disorders? Arterial embolism is mainly caused by blood clots. In addition, foreign bodies such as air, fat, cancer emboli and broken catheters can also become emboli. The main sources of emboli are as follows: 1, cardiogenic: such as rheumatic heart disease, coronary arteriosclerotic heart disease and bacterial endocarditis, thrombus dislodged from the ventricular wall; thrombus dislodged from the artificial heart valve, etc. 2.Vascular origin: such as thrombus dislodged in the lumen of aneurysm or artificial blood vessel; atheromatous plaque dislodged. 3, medical origin: arterial puncture cannula catheter break into foreign body, or endothelial tear secondary to thrombosis and dislodgement, etc. Among them, cardiogenic is the most common. The embolus may rush into the brain, internal organs and limb arteries with the direct current. It usually stays at the arterial bifurcation. In peripheral arterial embolism, the lower extremity is more common than the upper extremity, in order of common femoral artery, common iliac artery, popliteal artery and abdominal active bifurcation site; in the dead extremity, in order of brachial artery, axillary artery and subclavian artery. The main pathological changes are: early arterial spasm, later endothelial cell degeneration and degeneration of the arterial wall; secondary thrombosis in the arterial lumen; 6-12 hours after severe ischemia, tissue necrosis and loss of muscle and nerve function can occur.
