I. Awareness of individualized treatment of kidney cancer in modern medicine
There has been no major breakthrough in the treatment of kidney cancer. It is believed that the main reason is that the selection of cases is not precise enough, and it would be better if the drugs can be selected according to the physique, and cold physique is treated with Jianzhi, interferon, interleukin 2, etc.; hot physique is treated with Sorafenib, Sunitinib, Temsirolimus, Bevacizumab, etc.
It was also found that more gemcitabine was chosen for kidney cancer, both gemcitabine and paclitaxel for bladder cancer, to docetaxel for prostate cancer advocated, why is this? Western doctors will say that this is the conclusion of evidence-based medicine. It is very simple for TCM doctors to explain this problem. TCM doctors believe that kidney cancer is more cold, so it is treated with gemcitabine hot medicine; prostate cancer is hot, so it is treated with docetaxel and paclitaxel cold medicine; bladder cancer has both heat and moisture, so it is possible to choose both paclitaxel cold medicine and gemcitabine hot medicine.
Second, the understanding of diagnosis and treatment of kidney cancer in Chinese medicine
Modern medicine has poor effect on kidney cancer, but Chinese medicine has very satisfactory effect on kidney cancer and bladder cancer. The key to achieve curative effect is correct diagnosis and treatment.
1.Key points of treatment
Kidney is the organ of water and fire, which is the main division of yin and yang. Kidney cancer is located in the kidney and related to the spleen. Kidney deficiency is the root of the disease, and dampness, heat and toxicity are the evidence of real evil. The treatment is mainly to tonify the spleen and kidney, and also to detoxify dampness to fight cancer.
The first step in treating kidney cancer is to nourish the spleen and kidney, giving Liu Wei Di Huang Wan and Jin Kui Kidney Qi Wan. The Ling Shu – meridian tenth cloud: “kidney foot Shao Yin pulse, starting under the little finger …… its straight, from the kidney on through the liver compartment, into the lungs through the throat and clip the tongue …… is the main kidney sick people. Hot tongue dry, pharynx swelling on the gas, hidden dryness and pain.” The throat is moistened by the kidney’s meridian qi, it can exercise normal physiological functions, evil toxins have nothing to do.
Disorders of the kidney qi, blood, yin and yang can cause throat disease, so the throat and kidney in the function and chronic nephritis disease are closely related. Diseases of the throat can be transmitted to the kidneys through the meridians, so that the kidneys are injured, so the throat should be protected, given to the wild chrysanthemum, Bai Biao, cicada and other drugs. Therefore, we should add Fu Ling, Centipede and Gecko to dispel dampness and resolve phlegm to fight cancer.
In a word, the treatment of kidney cancer starts with strengthening the spleen and kidney, transporting phlegm and dampness, which will be eradicated if the phlegm and dampness are transformed. At the same time, we should give products to dispel dampness, resolve phlegm and fight against cancer, so as to promote the elimination of evil qi.
2.Individualized treatment
According to the clinical manifestations of kidney cancer, there are yin and yang certificates. For the differential diagnosis of yin and yang certificates, please refer to some chapters of “Ten Lectures on Chinese Medicine Tumor Treatment by Golden Chang”, regardless of the type of treatment, we should strengthen the spleen and kidney, eliminate phlegm and eliminate stasis, and fight against cancer.
Add or subtract according to the luck science: according to the luck science of birth or the luck science at the time of onset, we can deduce which factors are the important influencing factors of kidney cancer and guide the medicine with dialectical evidence, and the efficacy will be improved.
According to the metastases, kidney cancer is prone to lymph node, lung, bone and liver metastases. Lymph metastases are phlegm and dampness flowing, and should be strengthened to resolve phlegm and dampness; liver metastases are blood deficiency, so liver blood should be tonified; lung metastases are lung qi-yin deficiency and phlegm and dampness not transformed, so lung qi-yin should be strengthened to tonify lung and resolve phlegm and disperse nodules; bone metastases are mostly bony destruction, so kidney yang is deficient, so Yang He Tang should be given; multiple organ metastases are already greatly deficient in vital energy, so vital energy should be greatly tonified.
Add and subtract according to the symptoms: kidney cancer patients may have various symptoms, so the clinical treatment can be added and subtracted according to the symptoms, and the treatment of difficult symptoms of kidney cancer will be discussed later.
3.Basic formula

Addition and reduction according to symptoms.
(1) Damp-heat toxin knot, seeing redness of the face and dryness of the mouth and desire to drink, painful urination, add Haijin Sha 30g, Salt Cyperus 15g, Radix et Rhizoma 15g
(2) In cases of blood stasis, with skin and nail fault, circumference of the body, and pain in the back and legs, add 15g of San Ling, 15g of Curcuma longa, 10g of Safflower, and 10g of Peach kernel.
(3) In cases of hematuria, add 15g of fried Guanzhong, 30g of fried Bupleurum and 6g of fried Panax ginseng.
(4) In cases of kidney deficiency and back pain, add 10g of Eucommia Ulmoides and 30g of Fructus Parviflorus.
(5) For proteinuria, add 30g of Chinese yam, 9g of Atractylodes Macrocephala, 15g of Fructus Lycii.
(6) In cases of coldness and fear of cold, add 10g of dry ginger, 15g of Radix et Rhizoma Polygonatum (first).
(7) In case of frequent urination, add 6g of dried powder (divided) and 50g of mulberry cuttlebone.
Add or subtract according to the site of metastasis.
(1) For lung metastasis, add Astragalus membranaceus 50g, Zhi Mu 20g, Sheng Ma 6g, Hai Fu Shi (first down) 50g, Bai Ying 20g, Lily 30g
