What’s a cyst?

A cyst is a common benign lesion in the human body, a sac-like mass that can occur in a variety of organs in the body and can be filled with fluid of varying nature.

Depending on the location of the cyst, the cause of its formation is also different, the more common are liver cysts, kidney cysts, ovarian cysts, intracerebral cysts and so on. They are usually associated with congenital, genetic and disease factors. When the cysts are small, they may not show any symptoms, and follow-up observation is usually sufficient.

Larger cysts may compress the normal tissues or organs around them, causing dysfunction of the normal organs, which may manifest as corresponding systemic symptoms. Depending on the condition, the cyst may be treated by puncture and drainage or surgery.

Some cysts may be combined with infection, which may manifest as fever, fatigue, etc. If the cyst ruptures, it may also have bleeding. At this time, the treatment should be actively carried out.
