Hand, foot and mouth disease recurrent fever, body temperature of 38.5 ℃ or less, can still be physical cooling, if more than 38.5 ℃ or convulsions and other symptoms, need to be antipyretic, antiviral therapy, rehydration and other comprehensive treatment.
Hand, foot and mouth disease is a common infectious disease in children, mainly caused by enterovirus EV71 and coxsackie enterovirus A16. For children’s recurrent fever, the following two methods can be taken:
1. For a body temperature of 38.5℃ or less, physical cooling methods can be used, such as giving the child a hot bath or warm water rubbing bath. Because the children’s thermoregulatory center is not well developed, the body temperature is easily affected by the environmental temperature, often can have a good effect.
2. body temperature of 38.5 ℃ or more, physical cooling effect is not good, can also be oral antipyretic drugs, such as acetaminophen, ibuprofen, taking antipyretic drugs at the same time need to give more supplemental water, not only helps to reduce fever, but also can be supplemented because of fever, sweating caused by the loss of water, to prevent dehydration.
3. Antiviral therapy: Ribavirin or interferon alpha can be used to inhibit the replication and spread of the virus and improve immunity. Some children may have hemolytic anemia, decreased hemoglobin and anemia, malaise, etc., which may disappear after stopping the drug.
4. Combined with high fever and convulsions, respiratory difficulties, etc., need to be combined with antiviral, physical cooling, antipyretic, antipyretic, antitussive, oxygen, rehydration and other comprehensive treatment.
In summary, HFMD is usually self-limiting, with a duration of 7 to 10 days. However, close attention should be paid to complications and prompt medical attention should be sought in case of recurrent fever, headache, vomiting, panic, chest tightness and dyspnea.
