The difference between intestinal polyps and intestinal cancer

The differences between intestinal polyps and intestinal cancer are as follows: 1. Pathological type: intestinal polyps generally refer to benign polyps, including villous tubular adenoma, tubular adenoma, and misshapen tumor. Colon cancer is a malignant tumor, and the typology includes tubular adenocarcinoma, mucinous adenocarcinoma, and undifferentiated carcinoma; 2. Focal manifestations: benign polyps are smaller, with smooth surface and soft texture. Colon tumors have uneven surface, hard texture, may be accompanied by bleeding or ulcers, and may be larger in size; 3. Symptoms and prognosis: Patients with early benign polyps and intestinal cancer may have no obvious symptoms. Patients with mid- to late-stage bowel cancer may show symptoms such as abdominal pain, wasting, blood in stool, purulent stool, and even liver and lung metastasis. 90% of bowel cancer is caused by cancerous transformation of benign polyps, and there are obvious differences in patients’ prognosis.
