Extra-intestinal fistula is a serious clinical condition that usually refers to the flow of the contents of the intestine, including intestinal fluid and food, outside the abdominal wall through a break in the intestinal wall. It is usually a complication due to operations such as surgery, but in some patients, such as those with IBD, i.e., Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, or radiation enteritis, due to the presence of lesions in the intestine itself, the lesions slowly worsen, break down, and the intestinal fluid flows into the abdominal cavity, forming an abscess. In turn, the abscess breaks down and communicates with the abdominal wall, thus forming an extra-intestinal fistula. Therefore, extra-intestinal fistula is a serious abdominal disease, usually due to surgical complications. In addition, it results from the aggravation of many pathological diseases. The treatment of an extra-intestinal fistula is very difficult and must be treated in a medical unit with extensive clinical experience and considerable medical equipment. Treatment of extra-intestinal fistula should also be noted, although the intestinal wall is broken and cannot be opened easily, because the results of surgery at this time are poor.
