Is lymphatic tuberculosis serious?

Lymphatic tuberculosis is a chronic wasting disease with long treatment time and slow therapeutic effect, but it can be completely cured by scientific treatment. Lymphatic tuberculosis can be divided into primary lymphatic tuberculosis and secondary lymphatic tuberculosis, and secondary lymphatic tuberculosis is mostly caused by secondary pulmonary tuberculosis. Lymphatic tuberculosis of the neck is the most common type of lymphatic tuberculosis. The main symptom is a progressive neck mass, and patients also have symptoms of low fever, night sweats, emaciation and loss of appetite, and some patients may have degeneration of lymph nodes. Timely treatment is needed to avoid further aggravation of the disease. If not properly treated, the swollen lymph nodes can become liquefied and necrotic, or even ulcerated, forming sinus tracts that persist for a long time, making treatment more difficult. Mycobacterium tuberculosis can also spread through the body’s lymphatic vessels and cause tuberculosis in other parts and organs. Chinese medicine treatment for lymphatic tuberculosis can be carried out with drugs that resolve blood stasis and disperse nodules, detoxify and reduce swelling. For bumps and lumps, topical Chinese medicine can be applied, such as Yizhongtang ointment to activate blood stasis, relax tendons and activate muscles, and relieve inflammation and pain. Western medicine treatment can be carried out with isoniazid, rifampin, ethambutol and streptomycin. It is not difficult to cure lymphatic tuberculosis, and treatment should be actively taken. Patients are advised to seek medical consultation in a timely manner to avoid delaying the disease.
