Causes of insomnia and non-sleeping pill treatment

Insomnia is a subjective experience in which the patient is not satisfied with the sleep time or sleep quality and affects the social function during the day. Patients complain of not being able to sleep, manifesting as difficulty in falling asleep, waking up midway or waking up early. Insomnia has become a very common phenomenon in today’s fast-paced society and increased competition. The incidence of insomnia is very high, especially among the elderly and women. 1. Etiology Insomnia can be divided into two categories according to the cause: primary and secondary: 1. Primary insomnia Usually there is a lack of clear causes, or insomnia symptoms remain after excluding possible causes of insomnia, mainly including three types of psychophysiological insomnia, idiopathic insomnia and subjective insomnia. The diagnosis of primary insomnia lacks specific indicators and is mainly an exclusionary diagnosis. When the possible causes of insomnia have been excluded or cured, insomnia symptoms can be considered as primary insomnia. 2, secondary insomnia, including insomnia caused by physical diseases, mental disorders, drug abuse, as well as insomnia related to sleep breathing disorders, sleep movement disorders, etc., can also be caused by cervical spondylosis, which is also a common cause of insomnia recently found, may account for 70 – 80% of the causes of insomnia. Since cervical spondylosis is common in people who work long hours, but insomnia caused by cervical spondylosis has not yet attracted the attention of doctors, or perhaps because of the limited effect of treating cervical spondylosis with commonly used methods, it has not received attention. The overall goal is to clarify the cause as much as possible and to achieve the following objectives: (1) improve sleep quality and/or increase effective sleep time; (2) restore social function and improve the patient’s quality of life; (3) reduce or eliminate the risk of somatic diseases associated with insomnia or co-morbidities with somatic diseases; (4) avoid the negative effects of pharmacological interventions. 2.Western medical treatment 3.Chinese medical treatment
