Excessive milk consumption can lead to ovarian cancer

In today’s society, cancer is not only related to our living environment, but also closely related to our daily habits, especially diet. Ovarian cancer is a type of cancer that is difficult to be detected early and is very dangerous to women’s health. However, according to research, drinking more than two glasses of milk a day increases the risk of ovarian cancer. A study completed by the Karolinska Institute in Sweden showed that heavy milk consumption increased the incidence of ovarian cancer in women. This was the conclusion of a survey by scientists of more than 60,000 women who consumed more than two glasses of milk a day. Scientists followed 61,084 women aged 38 and 76 for 13 years, during which time 266 women were diagnosed with ovarian cancer and 125 were undiagnosed. Those women who consumed dairy products more than four times a day had double the incidence of ovarian cancer than those who drank two glasses of milk a day. Why drinking milk increases the probability of ovarian cancer is unclear. One theory is that the lactose in milk stimulates tumor growth. As for theories linking milk products to cancer, there have long been, mainly breast and prostate cancers. Scientists say it is still a mystery how the amount of food and body fat distribution affects cancer lesions. Some studies say that drinking skim milk does not affect ovarian cancer lesions in women. However, scientists recommend that it is best not to drink large amounts of milk until you know the specific ingredients in the food.
