Grade 4 gliomas, glioblastomas to be exact, have a 10-year survival rate of about 2.6%. Glioblastoma is a common primary malignant intracranial tumor with a poor prognosis. With the continuous exploration, research and improvement of treatments for this disease in recent years, despite the great progress made, its overall survival is still relatively short, and patients who can survive for a long period of time are rare. Tumor type, treatment, and the patient’s own condition all have an impact on survival. According to the results of the U.S. Central Brain Tumor Registry from 1995-2011, the 10-year survival rate for glioblastoma is estimated at 2.6%. And it has been established that the younger the age of diagnosis for patients with glioblastoma, the longer the overall survival. Patients with glioblastoma should go to a regular hospital in time and be treated aggressively under a doctor’s guidance to avoid delays.
