How to treat blepharoplastoma

Patients with blepharoplastoma can be treated with surgical excision, cryotherapy, and electrocautery to remove the lesion and improve discomfort.
Eyelid xanthoma is a common benign skin lesion of the eyelid that appears as an irregularly shaped, flat orange-colored plaque of varying sizes in the medial canthus of both upper eyelids of the eye, and partially requires treatment because of the changes that may affect one’s appearance. Patients can be treated with surgical excision, laser therapy, cryotherapy, and electrocautery to remove the lesions.
Blepharocanthoma is a yellow or orange colored patch of skin caused by lipid deposits in the eyelid area. Blepharocanthoma occurs on the eyelids and starts as a grain of rice, slightly elevated above the skin, separated from the normal skin, with irregular borders, and may even cover the entire eyelid.
It is recommended that patients with large blepharoplastomas be seen promptly for evaluation of their condition and treatment as prescribed by their physician.
