Pertussis vaccine is a mixture of pertussis vaccine, diphtheria toxoid, and tetanus toxoid that protects against both pertussis, diphtheria, and tetanus. This vaccine is given to normal infants over 3 months of age. After vaccination, the immunization effect is better, especially for tetanus and diphtheria, and immunity can be maintained for 5-10 years, while the incidence of pertussis is greatly reduced. Infants can start the vaccination at 3 months of age, with 3 consecutive injections, each one month apart, and a booster at 18-24 months of age. Since the chance of pertussis decreases after the age of 4 years, the booster vaccination at the age of 6 years is no longer used for the triple dose of pertussis, but for the booster vaccination. In addition, after vaccination, children should be observed at the injection site for half an hour and leave again if there are no adverse reactions.
