Diagnosis of tetanus: deep wounds, heavy contamination, infection, fever, back pain, sore and sleepy mouth, or difficulty in opening the mouth, neck straightening, corneal arch. The incubation period is 7-14 days. The shorter the incubation period, the more serious the disease. Prevention of tetanus: early and thorough cleaning of the wound is important, for wounds with small mouths and large bellies, the wound should be enlarged and fully drained to prevent tetanus vaccination is very effective, so as long as there is a break in the skin, it should be prevented by tetanus vaccination. Treatment of tetanus: adequate wound expansion, systemic anti-infection, high-dose intravenous infusion of tetanus antitoxin injection, keeping the airway open, nutritional support therapy, sedation, avoidance of light and sound. Tetanus treatment is difficult, but prevention is easy and works, so it is important to have the concept that whenever there is a break in the skin, a preventive tetanus vaccination is needed.
