Numbness of the big toe may be physiological factors, but also may be lumbar degenerative diseases, peripheral neuritis and other pathological factors.
1. Physiological factors: If you are in a cold environment, or maintain a particular posture for a long time, such as regular heavy labor, standing for a long time, squatting for a long time, etc., which compresses the tibial nerve, can lead to poor blood circulation in the legs, causing numbness in the big toe.
2. Pathologic factors:
(1) Lumbar degenerative diseases: such as lumbar intervertebral disc herniation, lumbar spinal stenosis, this kind of disease may compress the nerve root or spinal cord, causing numbness in the feet and numbness in the big toe.
(2) Peripheral neuritis: triggered by infection, metabolic and endocrine disorders, connective tissue disease, heredity and other factors, it can manifest as symmetrical sensory numbness in the distal limb, appearing as numbness in the big toe.
After excluding physiological factors, numbness of big toe should go to the hospital in time to find out the cause of the disease and treat the cause.
