First question: What should I do if I can’t get a number? If you need to see me but cannot get a number, please don’t be anxious, you can come to me for an extra number in Room 12 (Room 26 on Friday) on the second floor of the clinic. Patients who have already registered for the general outpatient clinic on the same day (those who need cataract surgery) do not need to register again and come to see me directly. I will also take care of out-of-town patients. Second question: What do I need to pay attention to before cataract surgery? Patients, especially those of advanced age, should have good blood pressure control (below 150/95) and blood sugar control (fasting below 8.5) before surgery. Patients taking aspirin should stop taking it for 3 days before surgery. Patients with chronic chronic illness should try to control it before surgery and ensure that they do not cough violently within 10 minutes of surgery. Third question: How long does cataract surgery take? Cataract surgery is available on an outpatient basis for 90% of patients at our hospital. Therefore, the time between the outpatient visit and surgery is usually no more than 2 weeks. My outpatient surgery hours are Monday afternoon and Friday afternoon. For some out-of-town patients, I try to accommodate early surgery (within 3-5 days) if outpatient surgery is available. It takes about 2 hours on the day of surgery. Although the whole cataract surgery process only takes 10 minutes, it still takes some time from registration and payment to waiting for surgery, surgery and checkout because one surgeon has 15~20 surgeries per day, so please understand that patients and their families. Pre-operative examination: Pre-operative routine examination: liver and kidney function, blood sugar, blood routine; electrocardiogram, blood pressure, intraocular pressure, tear duct flushing, eye ultrasound, IOL measurement, corneal endothelial measurement, corneal topography measurement; special examination: some patients need to undergo fundus OCT examination to confirm good fundus condition in order to obtain satisfactory vision after surgery. Glaucoma patients should undergo peripheral and central visual field examination before surgery.2. Appointment for surgery: After perfecting the above examinations, you can go to the cataract appointment center to make an appointment for surgery, fill in basic information and preoperative signature, and preoperative education.3. Postoperative follow-up: On the first day, the third day, one week and one month after surgery, you should come to our hospital for follow-up. You can come to our specialist outpatient clinic for review, or see the “IOL” clinic on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Mainly check the position of the IOL, whether there is any infection after surgery, and whether the surgical incision has healed.
