Do you know about rosacea?

Rosacea, also known as rosacea, is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with erythema and dilated capillaries occurring mainly in the central part of the face. It is most commonly seen in middle-aged people between the ages of 30 and 50, and is more common in women. The disease occurs in the middle of the face, mainly on the tip of the nose and nose, followed by the cheeks, chin and forehead, often symmetrically distributed, mostly in middle-aged people, more often in women. The lesions are erythema, capillary dilation and inflammatory follicular papules and pustules. The course of the disease is slow and can be divided into three stages, but there is no clear boundary. It is divided into 3 phases: erythema phase, papule phase and hypertrophy phase. 1.Erythema and capillary dilation stage Erythema appears in the middle of the face, especially in the nose, cheeks, between the eyebrows and chin, symmetrically distributed, erythema is temporary at first, when eating spicy food or hot drinks, environmental temperature rises, emotional impulse, facial flushing and congestion, self-conscious burning. After repeated episodes, superficial dendritic capillary dilation appears on the nose, nasal tip and cheeks, and local persistent redness appears, often accompanied by enlarged nasal follicular pores and sebum overflow. 2. Papular phase On the basis of erythema and capillary dilation, acne-like follicle-like papules and pustules appear repeatedly. When the damage is deeper and larger, boils, cysts, and deep inflammatory nodules are formed. The follicular opening on the nose and cheeks is enlarged, and can be recurrent over several years, with periods of mildness and severity. The rash often worsens in middle-aged female patients before menstruation. Nasal flaccid phase. Only a small number of patients, mostly men over 40 years old due to long-term congestion, repeated infections, connective tissue hyperplasia in the nose, abnormal enlargement of sebaceous glands, hypertrophy of the nasal end, dark red or purplish red. There are enlarged nodules on the nose, and the surface is uneven, forming a flabby nasal flab. In addition to skin manifestations, the eyes are often involved. The clinical manifestations are blepharitis, conjunctivitis, and occasionally keratitis and sclerositis, and patients may experience dryness, foreign body sensation, tearing, photophobia, and blurred vision. In addition to the above symptoms there are some special types of rosacea, such as steroidal rosacea, which is due to long-term local use of corticosteroids, resulting in thinning of the skin, increased capillary dilation, surface inlay cyst-like, round, deeply located papules or pustules, hard nodules, dark red skin, self-conscious discomfort and pain. Granulomatous rosacea is a specific type of rosacea, often occurring on the face around the mouth forming butterfly-shaped, yellowish-brown or jam-like nodules on slide indentation. Because the cause is unknown, treatment is mostly symptomatic, try to prevent aggravating factors, adjust endocrine, correct gastrointestinal tract dysfunction, prohibit smoking, coffee, spicy and stimulating food, do not overeat, keep bowel movements smooth, avoid using alkaline soap, alcohol, detergents, stains, astringents, etc. that stimulate the skin, as well as avoid exposure to the sun, too cold and too hot stimulation. Live a regular life and avoid mental tension. 1.Systematic treatment 2.Local treatment 3.Physical and surgical treatment Laser treatment is more effective for capillary dilation. The nasal flaccid stage can also be treated by surgical cutting to achieve cosmetic effect.
