I. Definition of cerebral palsy: Cerebral palsy (CP) is also known as cerebral palsy, cerebral palsy, cerebral palsy, or cerebral palsy for short. It is defined as a syndrome in which the pediatric brain tissue is damaged during the immature stage of development, resulting in postural abnormalities and motor deficits as the main clinical manifestations. It is a non-progressive, irreversible lesion. Its incidence varies around the world, with about 2‰ to 3‰ in developed countries and 3‰ to 4‰ in China. The causes of cerebral palsy are complex. Any cause of fetal and pediatric brain tissue ischemia, hypoxia, injury or poisoning can cause brain damage, which leads to cerebral palsy. The common causes are summarized as follows: 1. Pre-birth causes of fetus Factors within 6 months of gestation include: congenital malformation, genetic defects, in utero infection, pre-eclampsia, maternal poisoning, maternal exposure to X-rays, drug poisoning, and gestational toxicity. Factors after 6 months of gestation are: toxemia of pregnancy, placenta and umbilical cord abnormalities, prenatal hemorrhage, blood group discordance, fetal growth retardation, multiple pregnancies. 2.Causes during fetal delivery Fetal hypoxia during delivery, obstructed labor, neonatal asphyxia, giant fetus, premature and immature fetus, low weight baby, birth injury (e.g., intracranial hemorrhage) causing cerebral hypoxia, postnatal respiratory failure. 3.Postnatal causes of neonatal jaundice, neonatal shock, intracranial injury, encephalitis, meningitis, pneumonia and various infections caused by encephalopathy within one month after birth. 4.Hereditary causes Some children with cerebral palsy have cerebral palsy, mental retardation or congenital malformations in their peers, older generations and families. 5. Acquired causes Referring to the manifestation of cerebral palsy after the child is born for more than one month because some diseases damage the brain tissue. For example: cerebral artery embolism, intracranial abscess, meningitis, etc. The main causes can be summarized in 8 words: prematurity, obstructed labor, asphyxia, jaundice.
