Post-operative considerations for nose reduction

In general, the outermost part of the nostril should not exceed the vertical line of the inner canthus (inner corner of the eye); if it does, it is an enlarged nostril. When the nostrils are wide, the nostrils will look big, and if the nostrils are wide, the nose will also look low. When the nose is low and the nasal wings are slightly wide only rhinoplasty can be performed to achieve a natural nasal reduction. However, if the nose is too wide, you need to perform nasal reduction to make the whole nose look coordinated.

Post-operative attention: 1. Minimize activities after surgery to prevent the surgical site from touching; 2. It is strictly forbidden to touch the surgical incision with hands after surgery and avoid getting water on the incision; 3. Apply antibiotics for 3-5 days to prevent infection; 4. Within 24 hours after surgery, the patient’s face will be swollen and feel pain in the nose and dull headache. On the first day after surgery you should preferably lie in bed (except for going to the bathroom) and keep your head elevated. Swelling and bruising around the eyes will peak on the second to third day after surgery. Cold compresses will reduce the swelling; the swelling will usually disappear gradually 1-2 weeks after surgery; 5. Avoid sun exposure and violent impact for two months after surgery. Very few patients may experience rejection of the implant (swelling does not subside for three weeks, yellow liquid flows from the incision), and the implant should be removed immediately at the hospital; 6.
