Postnasal drip, or postnasal drip syndrome, is associated with many nasal diseases, such as allergic rhinitis, infectious rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis, sinusitis, etc. The treatment needs to be tailored to the primary disease, including medication and surgery. Different diseases have different treatments, and there is no so-called “fastest” treatment for all post-nasal drip syndrome. 1. Drug treatment: commonly used drugs include mucus promoters, nasal glucocorticoids, antihistamines, antibiotics and so on. (1) Mucus promoter: the purpose is to reduce the viscosity of mucus, promote mucus discharge, such as: eucalyptus pinocampus soft capsule, oleander drops and so on. (2) Nasal glucocorticoids: to reduce the inflammatory response of the nasal cavity, such as: budesonide nasal spray, mometasone furoate nasal spray. (3) Antihistamines: can counteract the effects of histamine-induced capillary dilatation, increased vascular permeability, smooth muscle contraction, increased respiratory secretion, etc., such as: cetirizine, loratadine and so on. (4) Antibiotics: for patients with bacterial sinusitis, to control the underlying disease and prevent secondary infections. Commonly used drugs are amoxicillin, etc. 2. Surgical treatment: the surgical method is nasal endoscopic surgical treatment, which aims to improve the ventilation and drainage in the nasal cavity and restore the function of the mucosa. If the diagnosis of postnasal drip syndrome is confirmed, it is recommended to consult the doctor in time and standardize the medication and treatment under the doctor’s guidance.
