The third shot of the rabies vaccine will not significantly affect the effectiveness of the vaccine if it is given three days late, but it is not allowed if it is given early. The rabies vaccine requires a total of five shots over the course of a month, and it is given mainly on the day of the bite, the third day, the seventh day, the 14th day, and the 28th day. If the third shot is given three days late, the fourth and fifth shots will need to be delayed by three days. The rabies vaccine is the only weapon humans have against the rabies virus. Rabies is a malignant infectious disease with no cure and a mortality rate of 100% once it develops, making it a preventable, but untreatable disease. A full course of rabies vaccination can protect us from the rabies virus and keep us healthy.
