What are high thyroglobulin antibodies?

Thyroglobulin antibodies are thyroid autoantibodies, and a high level may indicate an autoimmune disease of the thyroid gland, such as Graves’ disease, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, etc. A diagnosis should be made in conjunction with other tests. Thyroglobulin antibodies (TgAb) are thyroid autoantibodies that, when combined with thyroglobulin, can lead to destruction of thyroid cells, affecting thyroid function and abnormalities in thyroid hormone synthesis and secretion. In thyroid autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and Graves’ disease, TgAb may be elevated, and the diagnosis should be confirmed by combining TRAb, TPOAb, thyroid function, neck ultrasound, neck CT, and other test results. If TgAb is high, it is recommended to consult a doctor, complete the relevant examinations, and take appropriate treatment after the diagnosis is confirmed.
