End-of-life symptoms of advanced bowel cancer

Before dying of advanced bowel cancer, there will be obvious abdominal pain, abdominal distension, ascites, intestinal obstruction, etc. For patients with advanced bowel cancer, usually there will be tumor metastasis or tumor implantation inside the abdominal cavity, so it will lead to obvious abdominal pain as well as abdominal distension. As patients will have intestinal obstruction, such as obvious dilatation of intestinal tubes above the obstructed segment, patients will have paroxysmal or persistent pain. In addition, after the tumor cells are planted inside the abdominal cavity, a large amount of cancerous ascites can be produced, abdominal distension is very obvious, and the tumor will consume a lot of nutrients in the human body, so the patient has thin limbs or very little subcutaneous adipose tissue at the same time as abdominal distension occurs. When the patient’s pain is very obvious, it is suggested that he/she can also go to the hospital for treatment, and use some pain relief injections for symptomatic treatment if necessary.
