Effects of Hupo Wenzhong Tang

The effects of Houpu Wenzhong Tang are to move Qi, remove fullness, warm the middle and dry dampness. Houpu Wenzhong Tang is from the Treatise on Internal and External Injuries. It is mainly used in treating the syndrome of Qi stagnation, cold and dampness in the spleen and stomach, which is characterized by distension and fullness in the epigastrium (abdomen), or pain, inappetence, and tiredness in the limbs. In the formula, thick park has the effect of promoting qi and eliminating distension, drying dampness and removing fullness, and is the main medicine; grass nutmeg can warm the middle and disperse cold (using medicine to warm the spleen and stomach to dispel cold), promote qi and dry dampness; ginger and dry ginger can warm the spleen and stomach, and help grass nutmeg to disperse cold and relieve pain (by dispelling the cold in the body to alleviate the pain); tangerine peel and wood incense can promote qi and broaden the middle, and help thick park to eliminate distension and remove fullness; poria seeps wetness and strengthens the spleen. The adverse effects and contraindications of Hou Pu Wen Zhong Tang are not known. Drugs should be used under medical supervision, do not blindly self-medicate.
