What are the causes of macular refractoriness?

Macular avoidance, a phenomenon in which the function of the central gaze area is preserved in the partially and totally blind visual field on visual field examination. The phenomenon is seen as a result of damage or lesions in the posterior and middle visual radiations or visual cortical areas. Causes of macular evasion phenomenon: 1. Macular fissure retinal detachment Macular fissure retinal detachment is a special type of fissure retinal detachment, which is caused by the formation of a fissure in the whole macular layer, and the liquefied vitreous body arrives under the retinal neuroepithelium through this hole. 2.Age-related macular degeneration Age-related macular degeneration is also called age-related macular degeneration or aging macular degeneration. Most macular degeneration starts in the early 50s, and the older the age, the higher the prevalence. There is no significant relationship between the onset of the disease and gender and race. Both eyes are affected simultaneously or sequentially. The former is more common, while the latter is only 1/10-15 of the former. Occipital lobe tumor The occipital lobe is small, and tumors occurring solely in the occipital lobe are also rare. Occipital tumors often involve both parietal lobe and posterior temporal lobe. The most common tumor is glioma, accounting for about 1.46% of intracranial glioma; meningioma accounts for about 0.74% of intracranial meningioma; other tumors are much less common. In terms of physiological function, occipital lobe is the highest level visual analyzer, which is called “visual center”. The main clinical manifestation of occipital lobe tumor is visual impairment.
