Although the etiology of kidney tumors is still unclear, epidemiological studies have found that some of the following factors may be related to the development of kidney tumors: 1. smoking Most people know that smoking is related to the development of lung cancer, but few people know that smoking is also significantly related to the development of kidney tumors, according to studies, smoking increases the risk of kidney cancer by 30% to 200%, which is related to the amount of smoking, and it can only decrease after stopping smoking. The risk of kidney cancer can be decreased only after 25 years after stopping smoking. Obesity has been found that obese people are more prone to kidney cancer than the general population. Some researchers have investigated 35192 cases of obese people and 62 cases of kidney cancer occurred in 8 years, which is much higher than the incidence of kidney cancer. 3.Occupation Some people reported that workers in metal, chemical, rubber and printing industries and workers exposed to asbestos and cadmium have a higher relative risk of kidney cancer than the general population, but these results need to be confirmed by more scientific research. 4. Hypertension and anti-hypertensive treatment Some studies have shown that the relative risk of kidney cancer in hypertensive patients increases 1.4 to 2 times. It may be related to hypertension itself and diuretic drugs taken during hypertension treatment. It has been reported that diabetic patients are more likely to develop kidney cancer than those without diabetes. 14% of kidney cancer patients are diabetic patients, which is 5 times more than the number of normal people with diabetes. 6.Heredity Most kidney cancers are disseminated and not hereditary, but 2% to 4% of patients are hereditary kidney cancers. Most of the hereditary kidney cancers are middle-aged and young people, and the tumors are often bilateral, multiple or accompanied by other diseases. 7.Other Epidemiological survey found that the incidence of kidney cancer in urban areas is higher than that in rural areas, which may be related to the environment and dietary structure. Those on long-term dialysis with renal insufficiency are prone to kidney cancer, so those on dialysis for more than 3 years are recommended to have their kidneys examined by ultrasound every year. In conclusion, although the causes of kidney cancer are not clear, and although some factors are unavoidable, we know through the above mentioned that: not smoking and avoiding obesity are important measures to prevent the occurrence of kidney cancer.
