Do children with hepatitis B have a yellowish complexion?

In children with hepatitis B, yellowing of the face with yellow sclera and darkening of the urine is only seen when liver function is abnormal and bilirubin is significantly elevated, which is a sign of elevated bilirubin. In some children with chronic hepatitis B, only the transaminases are elevated and there is no yellowing of the skin and sclera. Some children who are hepatitis B carriers have positive hepatitis B DNA and normal liver function, and they do not have yellowing of the face. Hepatitis B patients are divided into chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis B carriers. Hepatitis B carriers do not need special treatment and can be reviewed regularly. Chronic hepatitis B patients need antiviral treatment in addition to liver protection and enzyme lowering treatment.
