Patients taking intestinal worms may experience central nervous system symptoms such as dizziness, headache, generalized weakness, drowsiness, etc. Some patients may experience digestive symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, epigastric discomfort, loss of appetite, and dry mouth. Other patients may have respiratory symptoms such as fever, chills, muscle aches, etc. Some may have skin rash or transient elevation of liver enzymes. However, these are mild and may resolve on their own without special treatment. It can be chewed, swallowed, or crushed and used with food. There is no special antidote, so symptomatic support treatment must be given in case of overdose.
