2.3mm pure ground glass-like lung nodules: low density, translucent cloudy, usually caused by inflammation, edema, etc., a small portion of the risk of cancer.
3.3mm mixed ground-glass lung nodule: the periphery is similar to ground-glass-like low density shadow, the density in the middle is slightly higher than that in the periphery, it is tumor-like proliferation, which is in line with the characteristics of irregular growth of cancer cells, and the probability of cancerous transformation is high.
The chance of malignancy of 3mm lung nodules is less than 1%. It is recommended to go to the hospital outpatient clinic regularly to review the chest CT to prevent the nodules from malignant changes without timely treatment.
