How to review after lung cancer surgery and discharge from hospital? Let’s take patients who do not need chemotherapy after early lung cancer surgery as an example. Half month after surgery discharge: review blood routine, biochemistry, chest X-ray; three months after surgery discharge: review chest X-ray, blood routine, liver function biochemistry, tumor markers. Six months after discharge from surgery: review chest CT, blood routine, liver function biochemistry, tumor markers (review circulating tumor cells (CTC) when available) Nine months after discharge from surgery: review chest X-ray, blood routine, liver function biochemistry, tumor markers. Twelve months after discharge from surgery: review chest CT, blood routine, liver function biochemistry, tumor markers (CTC when available), head MRI (if there is headache), bone scan (joint pain in extremities). The second, third and fourth years postoperatively were as above. In the fifth postoperative year, the cycle can be extended to every six months (consult the treating physician for specific items). In the sixth postoperative year, the review will be conducted once a year (consult the treating physician for specific items). For patients receiving chemotherapy, the review process begins after the completion of chemotherapy and the items are the same as above.
