Sodium Hydrogen Potassium Citrate Granules Efficacy Effects

The main effects of Sodium Hydrogen Potassium Citrate Granules include dissolving uric acid stones and preventing the formation of new stones.
Sodium Hydrogen Potassium Citrate Granules can, on the one hand, increase the pH value of urine, thus increasing the solubility of uric acid and cystine stones; on the other hand, it can increase the excretion of citrate, reduce the concentration of calcium ions in the urine, thus reducing the saturation of calcium salts in the urine that can form stones.
The drug is suitable for dissolving uric acid stones and preventing the formation of new stones, as well as for the maintenance treatment of cystine stones and cystinuria. Mild stomach or abdominal pain is seen after administration of the drug. Occasionally, mild diarrhea and nausea occur.
The drug is contraindicated in patients with acute or chronic renal failure, severe acid-base balance disorders (alkali metabolism) or chronic urinary tract ureolytic bacterial infections as well as in cases when absolute abstinence from sodium chloride is required. Specific use of the drug should be carried out under the supervision of a specialist.
