What to do about anterior cerebral artery stenosis

Patients with anterior cerebral artery stenosis should have a whole brain angiogram to find out where the stenosis is in the anterior cerebral artery and the degree of stenosis in the anterior cerebral artery. If the stenosis of the anterior cerebral artery is in the A1 segment, the degree of stenosis is more than 70%, and the patient has symptoms of anterior cerebral artery stenosis such as acute cerebral infarction, endovascular stenting or balloon dilation can be performed. If the stenosis of the anterior cerebral artery is distal, such as A2 or A3 segment, and the degree of stenosis is below 70%, and the patient does not have any symptoms, the treatment is mainly based on oral statins and regular follow-up.
