No need to panic about “fibroadenoma”

Fibroadenomas are a common breast condition around puberty and often present as painless, single or multiple, smooth, mobile, round or ovoid lumps. Fibroadenomas are generally rarely malignant, with literature reporting a 1 in 1000 chance of malignant transformation. Fibroadenomas can sometimes appear lobulated, and early slow growth is not easily distinguished from lobulated tumors or lobulated cystic sarcomas, which have a tendency to develop into sarcomas, a malignant tumor that can affect health and even life. Although fibroadenoma is common in young people, it cannot be ruled out that it occurs in older people, perhaps because it occurs when they are young and is not detected, and it is common that it is detected when they are older. However, because the incidence of breast cancer gradually increases in older people, it needs to be carefully differentiated from breast cancer, and it is best to surgically remove the disease for examination to avoid mistaking it for a benign tumor and delaying treatment. For these reasons, if a doctor finds a possible “fibroadenoma” in the breast, there are several points to note: 1. “In order to avoid being found and removed several times, the breast will become full of holes, and psychologically, they will not be able to withstand it, or even think that they always grow such things. 2, for young patients, especially students, not in a hurry to discover immediately after surgery, you can choose the time schedule, no need to be afraid, no need to delay study, work. 3, for older people, after the discovery of the general will be some pre-operative differential diagnosis, auxiliary some tests such as: ultrasound, mammography, etc., but still recommended surgery disease examination. 4, for women who are ready to get pregnant, it is recommended to remove the disease before pregnancy, because: during pregnancy and lactation due to physiological changes in the breast, congestion, edema, hyperplasia, breast milk, etc., perhaps the lump will grow, perhaps because the growth will cause psychological interference, etc. 5, if the diagnosis is clear, so far, there are no drugs that can eliminate “fibroadenoma”, and save the patient from surgery. In short, there is no need to be afraid of a real “fibroadenoma”, but whether or not it is a real “fibroadenoma” needs to be determined by an experienced doctor, or by the necessary tests, or by surgical examination.
