A 250mL fluid infusion usually takes about 90-120 minutes, but in some special cases, the infusion time depends on the speed of the infusion and is determined by the patient’s physical condition and the specific medication, and cannot be generalized. Older and weaker patients or those with cardiac insufficiency should usually have a slower infusion rate. The infusion speed should also be slowed down for drugs with high vascular irritation or some drugs that require continuous intravenous use in small doses. Sometimes drugs need to be input quickly to achieve the purpose of treatment, and then the infusion speed should be adjusted faster, such as the infusion speed of patients with severe dehydration or hypotensive shock should be accelerated. Therefore, the fast and slow infusion speed should be determined according to the patient’s condition.
