If you sleep with a little bit of yellow or white granular eye droppings in the corner of your eyes, and there is no obvious congestion in the whites of your eyes, it is generally possible that you are overusing your eyes or staying up too late causing the conjunctiva to compensate for the excessive secretions formed. This is generally normal and can be recovered in 2-3 days with rest. However, when you wake up in the morning, there is an excessive amount of yellow eye droppings on your eyelids, which prevents you from opening your eyes, and you have a congested conjunctiva. In this case, bacterial conjunctivitis caused by bacterial infection is considered and requires anti-inflammatory treatment such as levofloxacin or tolbach’s drops. If there is white or liquid eye discharge and the eyes are visibly congested, consider viral conjunctivitis caused by a viral infection. Anti-viral treatment with ganciclovir gel or acyclovir eye drops is usually indicated.
