The symptom of large eye congestion caused by fire is eye redness, or red eyes, generally due to the invasion of wind-fire and evil poison, mostly see eye redness, swelling and pain; liver heat attacked, mostly see white eyes red and red, or hold the wheel of red even. This disease can be treated with acupuncture and diarrhea to remove wind and clear heat. Commonly used acupoints for the treatment of this disease are eyeming, fengchi, sun, hegu, xingma and so on. For wind-heat cases, the acupuncture points can be combined with Waiguan to dissipate wind-heat and clear the head and eyes; for cases of liver and gallbladder fire, Taichong of the liver meridian can be used to clear and diarrhea the fire of the liver and gallbladder. The liver opens the orifices in the eyes, and the Shaoyang, Yangming and Sun meridians reach the eyes, so Fengchi and Hegu are taken to regulate the Yangming and Shaoyang meridians in order to disperse wind and clear heat; Euming is the meeting point of the Sun and Yangming meridians, which can vent the heat of the affected area; Xingmai is the Xingxing point of the liver meridian, which can lead the syncopated meridians downward to diarrhea liver heat; and the Sun is close to the affected area, so that it can drain heat and eliminate swelling. When discomfort occurs, one should consult a doctor and choose the appropriate treatment plan under the guidance of the physician’s diagnosis, and not operate on one’s own in order to avoid adverse consequences.
