What medication can be used to completely eradicate genital herpes?

There is no cure for genital herpes, especially for people with low immunity, and it is easy for it to recur even after it has been cured. Genital herpes can be clinically cured through active treatment, but is prone to recurrence. It can be treated through general treatment, systemic medication, localized medication and other measures.

Genital herpes is a chronic, recurrent and difficult-to-cure sexually transmitted disease caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection of the urogenital and perianal skin mucosa.

1. General treatment: avoid sexual intercourse when symptoms appear, quit smoking and drinking, pay attention to rest, keep the skin clean and hygienic, avoid scratching.

2. Systemic medication: the main choice of antiviral drugs commonly used drugs such as acyclovir, ganciclovir, famciclovir, etc., usually administered orally or intravenously; acute pain can choose diclofenac sodium, gabapentin and other drugs for symptomatic treatment.

3. Topical medication: topical acyclovir ointment, penciclovir cream and other antiviral treatment; if there is a secondary bacterial infection, erythromycin ointment, fusidic acid ointment and other antibiotic ointment can be used topically.

If you suspect that you are infected with genital herpes you should seek medical attention, follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment, and avoid abusing drugs.
