It is best not to do moxibustion for kidney yin deficiency, which is not suitable for this kind of constitution. This is because kidney yin deficiency is a state of the body that is deficient in fluids and is prone to yin deficiency and fire. Moxibustion is a warm yang treatment, just like the sun shines on the ground, if there is water on the ground it is easy to dry up, then it is an opposite treatment for the condition of insufficient fluid. So moxibustion is suitable for pathological mechanisms such as yang deficiency, flooding of water, and dampness, while it is not suitable for kidney yin deficiency with insufficient fluids, or even pathological mechanisms that may produce yin deficiency and fire exuberance.
