Which is better, Gastrografin or Morpholine?

Gastroparesis is metoclopramide tablets and morphine is domperidone, both of which have the effect of promoting gastric emptying, with different mechanisms of action. Due to the differences in patients’ conditions and individual constitution, there is no saying which one is better. Metoclopramide tablets can act in the medulla oblongata emetic chemoreceptor area, with a strong central antiemetic effect, but also promote the movement of the stomach and upper intestinal segments, increase the pressure of the lower esophagus and so on. In clinical practice, it is commonly used in the treatment of nausea, vomiting, belching, dyspepsia, gastric distension, hyperacidity and other symptoms caused by various etiologies as well as reflux esophagitis, functional gastric retention, gastric ptosis, delayed gastric emptying of the residual gastric emptying syndrome and other diseases. Adverse reactions such as lethargy, irritability, fatigue and weakness may occur during the administration of metoclopramide tablets; it should be contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to procaine, epilepsy, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, mechanical intestinal obstruction or perforation, and pheochromocytoma. Domperidone can increase gastric sinus and duodenal motility and promote gastric emptying. It is commonly used in clinical practice for the treatment of abdominal distension and abdominal pain, belching, nausea and vomiting, reflux and other symptoms caused by delayed gastric emptying, gastroesophageal reflux, esophagitis and so on. Domperidone may cause adverse reactions such as dry mouth, headache, insomnia, nervousness, dizziness, drowsiness, etc. It is contraindicated for patients with mechanical gastrointestinal obstruction, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, perforation, prolactinoma, pheochromocytoma, and breast cancer. Both of them have their own advantages in treating diseases, so there is no such thing as which one is better. Before use, it is recommended to consult a professional doctor, according to one’s own condition, choose to use reasonably, not self-medication, so as not to delay or even aggravate the condition.
