Is lumbar disc herniation dangerous with laminectomy?

Lumbar disc herniation with laminectomy is performed through a minimally invasive surgical procedure with a relatively low risk factor, but any surgery carries a certain amount of risk. Foraminoscopic surgery, which is performed under local anesthesia and during which the patient is awake, is characterized by less trauma and faster recovery. Because it directly removes the intervertebral disc tissue that is pressing on the nerves, it is very definitive and stable and, at the same time, safer. For patients with lumbar disc herniation, or even patients with nerve compression symptoms, laminectomy can be used as a treatment. However, any surgery carries certain risks, and so does laminectomy. As long as standard operating procedures are followed, laminectomy is a very safe surgery with a relatively low risk factor.
