What to do about congenital missing teeth

Missing teeth are more common in clinical practice, such as congenital missing lower incisors, bicuspids, and maxillary lateral incisors. X-ray should be performed before treatment to assess the crowding, facial protrusion, and lip protrusion of the patient’s teeth. If the teeth are basically aligned, there is a gap between the teeth and the lip projection is good, the current gap can be maintained and implant or other restorative treatment can be performed when the patient becomes an adult. If the patient also has crowding or excessive lip protrusion, the teeth can be extracted and the gap can be closed, which can also avoid the trouble of dental implantation later.
