How to treat a cyst in the throat

Puncture or surgical treatment is appropriate for throat cysts. Laryngeal cyst formation is caused by obstruction of mucous glands in the laryngeal mucosa leading to mucous retention.
1. Puncture: Smaller cysts that do not cause a clinical reaction do not require treatment and close observation is sufficient. With the gradual increase of the cyst, it may lead to blockage of the airway, causing respiratory difficulties, etc. Puncture and suction treatment is recommended, but this method cannot completely remove the lesion, and the disease may recur.
2.Surgical treatment
(1) Intralaryngeal method: commonly used in patients with small cysts, most of the cyst wall is removed through direct laryngoscopy or indirect laryngoscopy and laser is used to destroy the cyst wall at its base, which can effectively reduce recurrence.
(2) Extralaryngeal method: commonly used in patients with recurrent or huge cysts, taking lingual pseudomembranous pharyngotomy, which can remove the complete cyst wall.
If diagnosed with this disease, you should seek medical treatment in time and follow the doctor’s instructions to avoid delaying the condition.
