Trigger finger, also known as stenosing tenosynovitis, occurs when the flexor tendon of the finger passes through the tendon sheath of the metacarpophalangeal joint, causing repeated friction, resulting in edema of the tendon sheath, which then compresses the passing flexor tendon of the finger, resulting in the appearance of trigger finger. The cost of surgery for this condition depends on the type of surgery used. If the procedure is a minimally invasive, small-knife tendon sheath debridement, the cost of this procedure is usually around$300. If the patient has an incision to fully expose the tendon sheath and perform a tenotomy, the cost is usually around$600.
