Can hyperuricemia be reversed?

Hyperuricemia is mostly reversible, i.e., blood uric acid is controlled within the normal range.
Hyperuricemia is a chronic, systemic disease caused by excessive production and/or decreased excretion of uric acid, or both. However, through active lifestyle modification and medication most patients can have their blood uric acid levels controlled within the normal range.
1. Lifestyle adjustment. Hyperuricemia patients need to eat a low purine diet, avoid eating high purine food, such as seafood, animal offal, thick meat soup. Drink more water to promote the excretion of uric acid, abstain from alcohol, and exercise appropriately.
2. If patients still have hyperuricemia after lifestyle adjustments, patients can be treated with drugs such as benzbromarone, allopurinol, febuxostat, labrylase, etc. under the guidance of a doctor.
It is recommended that patients with persistent hyperuricemia or joint swelling and pain should go to the hospital for consultation and standardized diagnosis and treatment under the guidance of doctors.
