The treatment of varicose veins on the left side depends on the patient’s condition and the degree of progression of the condition, whether the varicose veins are caused by deep vein problems or by superficial venous valve insufficiency, which are different. If the varicose vein is caused by superficial venous valve insufficiency alone, the varicose vein can be treated conservatively or surgically according to the severity of the patient’s condition. In case of deep vein problems, such as iliac vein compression syndrome, which usually occurs on the left side, the pressure in the deep veins increases, causing the superficial veins to dilate. In general, it is best to start with conservative treatment, and if conservative treatment is not effective, surgical treatment can be performed, which involves dilation of the narrowed part of the iliac vein with a stent.
