How deep is a deep burn

The current domestic burn classification has three degrees and four divisions, that is, there are Ⅰ degree burns, shallow Ⅱ degree burns, deep Ⅱ degree burns, Ⅲ degree burns, and the latest has four degrees and five divisions have Ⅰ degree, shallow Ⅱ degree, deep Ⅱ degree, Ⅲ degree and Ⅳ degree burns. Deep burns have a few millimeters or centimeters is the wrong concept, generally speaking the depth is mainly refers to the histological depth, to reach the deep dermis below the burn is called deep burns. The division is based on the length of time it takes for the wound to heal, and some call burns that heal within 21 days after the burn superficial burns and those that heal after 21 days deep burns. Most deep burns require surgical treatment to heal, and deeper burns require flap treatment. Deep burns often have changes in appearance, function, and scar formation after healing. Deep burns are prone to infection and deepening of the wound, and require systematic treatment.
