Can the hepatitis B test detect the presence of hepatitis B?

In most cases, the hepatitis B virus can be detected through the five tests. When the hepatitis B surface antigen is positive, it means that the hepatitis B virus has been infected, and when the hepatitis B surface antigen is negative and the hepatitis B E antigen is negative, it means that there is no hepatitis B virus infection. However, there is another very rare clinical condition, when the hepatitis B virus is mutated and cannot express hepatitis B surface antigen or hepatitis B E antigen, but the virus is replicating, then the DNA quantification of hepatitis B virus is positive, while the hepatitis B two-and-a-half is negative, this situation is also the state of hepatitis B virus infection. When all the five items of hepatitis B are negative, it cannot be completely ruled out that it is hepatitis B virus infection, it is recommended to do hepatitis B DNA test again, if this test is also negative, then hepatitis B virus infection can be completely ruled out.
