There are two ways to check for H. pylori: 1) carbon 13 or carbon 14 breath test, usually around$100. 2) gastric pathology test, giving a quick urease stain, which costs about$50-60, but requires pathology to be taken under gastroscopy. The presence of H. pylori infection requires the administration of anti-H. pylori medication. During the H. pylori test, do not eat breakfast or drink water in the morning if possible, and fast for more than 8 hours. After the H. pylori test, it is necessary to give food after two hours. It is recommended to give light food, especially after the gastroscopy for pathology, and to eat after 2-3 hours. The H. pylori carbon 13 and carbon 14 breath test is radioactive and is not recommended for children, nor during pregnancy preparation.
