The most common form of arm dislocation in children is radial head subluxation, which is usually performed without anesthesia, directly with manipulative repositioning and with care to avoid recurrence.
Manipulation reset is the operator holds the child’s wrist with one hand, the other hand holds the child’s elbow, presses the position of the radial head with the thumb, and bends the elbow to a position of 90 degrees, and gently and slowly rotates the forearm forward and backward, and carries out repeated activities for many times, and at the same time gently pushes down on the position of the radial head with the thumb to carry on the reset.
If the reset is successful, a popping sound can be heard, and the elbow joint can resume normal activities, generally do not need to be immobilized after the operation, but parents need to be instructed to avoid pulling the child’s arm, in order to prevent re-dislocation.
If the child’s arm is dislocated, it is recommended to consult a doctor for reset.
